Give Your Curtains Some Class by Making a Window Valance

      By houseswd | June 25, 2010

My making a window valance one can add a lot of style to the curtains and also to the room. It is not very difficult to add the class to the room as one can make the window valance on their own. One should start at the curtain rod while measuring the length of the valance. The valance should be about 15 inches in depth but it can be more too if the window is wider. The next step is to use a flat surface to lay the fabric on it.

The front of the material should be facing the bottom. A valance can either be gathered on the wall or hung straight from a rod. The width should be measured as per the style decided. For the hems 2 inches should be added and then the fabric can be cut. One needs to stitch the hem on both sides. The fabric can be then turned again and the bottom of the fabric should be folded. It is easy to make the window valance and all that is needed is some expertise.
